Steve's Fry Bread
This bread started on Navajo reservations in the USA in the 1800's because the people were given large amounts of surplus white flour, sugar and lard, the bread is still problematic to many First Nation people. Having said that, a degree of ironic pride is taken in it's production and consumption today. This recipe has substituted half wholegrain flour and removed the sugar in an effort to make it healthier, or at least as healthy as deep fried bread can be.
